Israeli comics - the early years - a new exhibition

Early Israeli comics and cartoon exhibition

My good friend Galit Gaon is curating an exhibition of early Israeli comics created between 1935 and 1975. Spanning a period that begins before the establishment of the state, and indeed before the 2nd World War and the Holocaust, and ending after the traumas of the Yom Kippur war, this exhibition should give an interesting insight as to how the country perceived itself and what was considered “funny” during those early years.
