The Troll King
Tremble before the Troll King! Overlord to the Horde of Cranes,
Harbinger of the New,
Destroyer of the Old,
Prodigal of Progress and Duke of Demolition. The Troll King was created from a photograph of a small paper figurine I fashioned while visiting my mother at the hospital. My mother was having a hard time and her mood reflected onto my sister, myself, all of us... I guess this is the real reason for what, to me, is one of the darkest prints I have ever created.
It relates to the poem "King Bog" that I wrote years ago: King BogThey come from shack and hovel
to snivel and to grovel
at the feet of the great man of the bog
He enjoys his social status
as magistrate and magus
and feeds of their devotion, like a hog
He corrupts they're sons and daughters
and defiles their wells and waters
Their cup of sorrow is always full right to the rim
To prevent they might get wiser
he keeps them working Pro Patria und Kaiser
both conveniently figments of his whim
And should one of them provoke him
He’ll simply spit-and-roast them
and feed them to the pack
