9 - 11The attacks of September 11th 2001 are one of the defining moments of my generation. To me they are akin to the attack on Pearl Harbor, because, like that attack, they redefined the world's perception of a threat. In this case they forced us all to confront the horrors of global Jihad and Islamic terrorism. My parents remember where they were when Kennedy was assassinated and who was with them in the room when Armstrong took man's first steps on the moon. I remember exactly where I was when prime minister Rabin was assassinated, and where, and who I was with, when the World Trade Center towers collapsed. The image is simple and evocative: The elongated format hints at the shape of the towers. The two numbers: Nine and Eleven, emphasized in red, hint at the drama and the terror of the event itself. The question mark asks the question we would all love to see answered: See 9-11 on display at my exhibition Digital Zion. Limited Edition |
