The whole art thing began for me a few years back. I was sitting in my studio going about my business when all of a sudden a message appeared on my skype IM. "Draw me a sheep" she wrote.
This was the first, and to date only, time anything like this had happened to me.
To this day I don't really know what drove me to comply, but 5 minutes later I delivered this image to her. I no longer remember what the girl's name was. I do know that she was living at the time in the Golan heights where she moved to from Jerusalem. She was in her later twenties, married with a kid, and had found religion a few years earlier. While still living in Jerusalem, before finding religion, she was invloved with the "100 meters underground" line of techno raves that I too used to frequent.
We chatted back and forth all that day and never since.
She was my Muse.
Her sheep, since renamed "Kadishman", in recognition of Israeli artist Menashe Kadishman, whose sheep paintings are world famous, was the first that I ever shared with anyone.
I just want her to know how grateful I am to her for setting me free.
